Goodreads Swap Members Welcome!

Friday, October 21st, 2011

October 31, 2011 marks the day Goodreads will be shutting down their book swap service.  BooksfreeSwap welcomes displaced Goodreads swap members and believes its service is the best place for them to find their books new homes.  Because BooksfreeSwap requires the recipient of the book(s) to pay the postage like Goodreads swap service, BooksfreeSwap is a natural fit for displaced members.

To make the transition as easy as possible, BooksfreeSwap has added a new “Import From Goodreads” feature.  Members will now find an “Import From Goodreads” link in their account. If you are not already signed into Goodreads, it will direct you to the Goodreads site where you will sign in, then the site will redirect you back where you can retrieve your wish list and books available to swap list from Goodreads. The system will first retrieve your list, then ask you to confirm and import.

Queue Integration with Booksfree

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

We recently integated member’s queues at with BooksfreeSwap. Booksfree members can now tell which books in their queue are available at BooksfreeSwap and can trigger a swap from their Booksfree queue.

Booksfree members will now notice a swap icon in their queue for titles that are available at BooksfreeSwap. To trigger a swap for an available title, simply click on the icon. You only pay a minimal shipping and handling fee to have a BooksfreeSwap member ship you the book.

If you are a BooksfreeSwap member, completed swaps for titles that are in your Booksfree queue will be automatically removed. Conversely, any title we ship you from your Booksfree queue will automatically be removed from your BooksfreeSwap wish list.
